Professional Issues Chair Assist and participate in planning a professional nutrition conference for the year.
Corresponding Secretary Assist in preparing regular mailings/e-mails to members (meetings, announcements, ballot, etc.)
Membership Assist in increasing membership, mailings, and greeting members at meetings.
Public Relations Assist in public relations activities, press releases, and newsletters, contacting the media to promote the various professional events, meetings and activities.
National Nutrition Month Assist and actively participate in the promotion of the nutrition professional through ongoing planning and developing creative ideas.
Bylaws and Handbook Assist in reviewing Bylaws, compare with NYSDA's Bylaws. Review Handbook to coincide with Bylaws and assist in making changes as needed. Computer skills are helpful.
Legislation/Public Policy Assist with local, state, and federal nutrition legislation and public policy via phone calls, mailings, e-mail and visits.
Grass Roots Liaison Assist and actively communicate with state and federal legislators to promote the dietetic professional; to assist in promoting or rejecting nutrition related issues.
Scholarship Assist in the selection of scholarship awards.
SPRC/Career Guidance Assist in recruitment/career guidance to students who demonstrate interest in the nutrition field. Promote the dietetic professionals through health fairs; attend high school and higher education career days. Develop mentoring relationships between professionals and students.
Nominating Assist in developing a ballot for the elected positions on the BOD.
Speakers Bureau Assist in speaking engagements requested by other organizations, such as, local school districts etc.
Professional Community Liaison Assist in developing/continuing links with a variety of nutrition related organizations. Attend meetings of these organizations.
Reimbursement Communicate with members on reimbursement issues.
Fund Raising Using one's ingenuity and creativity to assist and develop fund raising projects such as raffles, meeting exhibitors, races, and book fares, and actively participate in these events.
Student Network, assist and actively participate in various projects throughout the year.
